Back at the end of February this year the IPCC, the intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change released the second of three reports in its 6th Assessmen. Julia Levin, Senior Climate and Energy Program Manager with Environmental Defence in Toronto, gives us an overview of the report.
That’s the current state of affairs, and to bookend that, we’re going back to 1985 when American scientist Carl Sagan sounded the alarm on climate in the US Senate. That was 40 years ago. Sagan sounds absolutely prophetic in this 15 minute explanation.
To top it off, British anthropologist Jason Hickel explains what he thinks we need to do about our relentless destruction of nature… and he calls it degrowth.
